Dydd Gŵyl Dewi

Sure, in just a few weeks half the city will don head-to-toe green, down some cheap green beer, and become an honorary Irishman for St. Patrick’s Day as an excuse for day drinking, but this week, why not celebrate a different part of the British Isles? This Thursday is St. David’s Day, a national holiday in Wales celebrating the feast day of its patron saint. Bay Ridge’s Longbow, a super-authentic pub (seriously, they serve snakebites, half-pints, and fry-ups that rival the ones we used to have in the UK) will be holding all sorts of festivities to mark the auspicious date. For foodies, a $35 prix fixe will be on offer until 11pm, including Welsh cheeses, lamb, and tea. Drink-lovers can enjoy Welsh whiskey and beer, and everyone will be subject to a festive atmosphere including playlists featuring Welsh musicians and daffodils (a Welsh symbol) filling the bar.
