If you need a new read for Spring, Megan Mayhew Bergman’s first book, a collection of short stories entitled Birds of a Lesser Paradise, comes highly recommended by industry pubs like Kirkus and authors including Sara Gruen (Water for Elephants) who likens Bergman to “such greats as Alice Munro, Elizabeth Strout and even Chekhov.” Bergman’s stories deal with our complicated relationship with nature and animals, and on Thursday, she’ll be reading from them at BookCourt, followed by a Q&A and signing.
