Ever Had A Mezcal Margarita?

By

If you’ve never had a chance to sip on a smoky spirit that’s not whiskey, satisfy your curiosity this Friday at The Greene Grape. Mezcal, tequila’s not-so-distant second cousin, is made from the juice of agave plants (tequila is only made from blue agave plants in specific regions, mezcal is mainly made in Oaxaca) and its distinct smoky taste gives it a unique quality unlike other clear spirits. The tasting is free, and sure to inspire you to switch from tequila to mezcal, at least for a few cocktails (click here for some great examples).
