Where the Ladies At?

If you are looking for an enjoyable, educational and slightly goth way to spend Mothers’ Day, whether you’ll be spending it with your own mom or not, consider Green-Wood’s Great Women walking tour. The guided tour will celebrate some of the notable women who have been buried in bucolic Green-Wood Cemetery over the past two centuries, including pioneering doctors, an abolitionist, actresses, and famous courtesans and mistresses. Tickets are available here for $15, and the two-hour walk will highlight all the architectural and natural beauty that the cemetery has to offer–it’s spectacular as you can see from our Brooklyn History article. If you’re hungry after the walk, treat yourself and your mother to Sunday Supper, a weekly $30 prix fixe meal at Lot 2, a standout restaurant nearby.
