The Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s brand-new visitor’s center, designed by the firm Weiss/Manfredi (who has since turned its attention to the Washington Mall), is now open and welcoming visitors through transparent walls of glass that support a 10,000-square-foot living roof. To celebrate the new Washington Ave. entrance, the Garden is throwing a June Jubilee called Amble from noon to 6pm with live musicians performing everything from Ragtime to West African Cora, botanic workshops for kids and adults, and a pop-up, Bellocq Tea House. Best of all, admission is FREE.
