Learn, Pick, Eat

Slow Food NYC’s Urban Foraging class this weekend, will introduce you to the secret garden of green goodness right in your backyard, or at least Brooklyn’s collective backyard. Taught by Leda Meredith (author of The Locavore’s Handbook), the class will reveal that Prospect Park is full of edible plants ripe for the picking, and teach you how to identify them. The event is $30 for SFNYC members, $40 for non-members (tickets here), and will continue rain or shine. It concludes at Beer Table, where you can sample some of the day’s harvest, and perhaps even enjoy a pint or two.
