Pining for You, a celebration of queer love, kicks off this Saturday at the Old Stone House in Park Slope. The four-part event will explore queer park space, gay utopias, community love and Dutch culture, all things near and dear to the heart of creators Elizabeth Koke and Tracy Candido, who BB contributor Julie Strickland interviewed last week. It will include the reading of vows written by and for queer community members, a queer love wedding ceremony where event attendees will be “wedded” to one another, a pine tree planting ritual symbolizing everlasting friendship and a Dutch-inspired wedding cake to eat and share. So come out, meet some new folks and snag a bite of some tasty almond cake.
