Chef Gordon Ramsay will be in Brooklyn the week, trying to rescue Mama Maria’s Italian restaurant on Court Street. His Fox series Kitchen Nightmares will start filming on Thursday and run through Saturday June 23. To witness Ramsay’s intervention for yourself, email firstname.lastname@example.org and make a dinner reservation during the filming. This email address is the only way to secure a spot, which is first-come, first-served. Patrons must be over 18 years of age and are responsible for the cost of their own meals and drinks. All funds go directly to the restaurant.
At first glance, it’s hard to form a clear picture of the problems presumably plaguing Mama Maria’s. Reviews of the restaurant on Yelp are decidedly mixed, ranging from comments praising the service and lasagna that is “close to what my mom made” to those declaring the pizza “probably the worst in Brooklyn.”
In Kitchen Nightmares, Ramsay, a footballer-turned-chef, visits a different eatery that is experiencing major problems every week. He delves into its inner workings, sorting out everything from unsanitary conditions to incompetent staff. We’ll be curious to see whether Ramsay can turn things around for Mama Maria’s.
