This week marks the fifthanniversary of The Diamond, the beloved Greenpoint watering hole best known for the gondola in its awesome, bi-level backyard. To celebrate, the bar will be hosting events all weekend, starting with this Friday’s All Bottles Open party, where one bottle of each beer on the bar’s 35+ list will be cracked open. Revelers will each be entitled to five free samples, so now is the time to try those outliers you’ve always wondered about. On Saturday at 7pm, the bartenders will try to outpour each other in The Great Reissdorf Kolsch Kompetition, which means more free beer for the drinking. Finally, for hungry types, a backyard feast with tamales, pork sliders, empanadas, boiled peanuts, and watermelon slices is scheduled for Sunday afternoon from 4-8pm.
