When Jenny Slate left for L.A. earlier this year, there were doubts that The Big Terrific, the comedy show she hosted with Gabe Liedman and Max Silvestri might not recover. Fast forward to its four-year anniversary show at Cameo a few weeks ago, and I’m glad to say it’s still probably the best thing you can do with your Wednesday night. Liedman may no longer have his “Bestie” stage partner to banter with, but his stand-up has gotten sharper as a result, and Silvestri remains one of the only hosts who consistently destroys every time on he’s on the mike. TBT continues to draw the comedy all-stars that put it on the map with their surprise sets, and every act they feature kills. As always, the show is free, the food at The Lovin’ Cup is great for before or after, and cheap booze specials are available.–V.R.
