Hiding among the nails, dusters, potting soil and lightbulbs at Crest Hardware on Metropolitan, you can already find painted saws and paper-mâché tools, a screenprint of power strips and a 10-foot-tall screwdriver, and that is just some of the unexpected artwork that will be installed in the shop by the time Crest Fest opens this Saturday. The annual event, now in its 11th year, brings together hardware-inspired art by over 100 artists plus food, beer, vendors, DJs and live bands that perform in the lush garden center out back (where you can also check out the store pig, Franklin). The party starts at 1 and goes till 7pm, but the show is open through August.
