Go Fly a Kite

By

You may have noticed a cluster of colorful kites in the air if you were near Brooklyn Bridge Park last weekend. What you saw was the Brooklyn Kite Festival, which took place at Pier 1 from 10 am until 2 pm. Families covered one stretch of grass, and the sky was dotted with bright colors of different shapes as kites took flight above the park. It was hot, sure, but that didn’t stop the lawn from filling up with people. Besides, there were ice cream trucks on hand and the lawn was surrounded with trees to take refuge from the blistering sun.
