Arts and Eats

I wish I had come up with the idea for Slideluck Potshow myself, because gathering a bunch of people in a cool location for a giant potluck dinner to showcase the work of local artists is exactly the kind of genius concept I’d love to claim as my own. That honor belongs to Casey Kelbaugh, who has brought interesting people and diverse art together all over the world since holding the first Slideluck in his East Village apartment in 2003. This Thursday, Brooklyn Brewery will host Slideluck Northside, which will feature a slideshow of pieces created by Williamsburg and Greenpoint artists, plenty of beer, and food from a few local food shops as well as your fellow partygoers. Whip up your favorite recipe, buy a $15 ticket online, and spend your Thursday night showing support for your creative neighbors. — K.H.
