Summer needs surf rock like surfers need waves, and this Saturday Brooklyn Bowl delivers with “the King of the Surf Guitar” Dick Dale. Sometimes referred to as the father of metal for his quick picking and fast riffing, Dale created a sound, using high wattage amps and reverb, that blended different styles into one that would become his own. Opening up for him are neo-garage rockers The Lyres, who’ve been playing Kinks/Seeds influenced rock ‘n’ roll since 1979. The catchiness of songs like “Help You Ann” are sure to get everyone dancing and warmed up for Dick Dale. Doors are at 6 and the show starts at 8. Get your tickets here.
