Now in its seventh year, the Great Hot Dog Cookoff is gearing up for its most impressive rendition yet. (We wrote about the backstory here.) This Saturday’s culinary competition and fundraising event will be the first large-scale outdoor happening at the former Pfizer building (630 Flushing Ave.) in Williamsburg. Get your weenie on with original creations like the buffalo wing: a dog filled with blue cheese, breaded, pan-fried, doused it in hot wing sauce and served on a celery stalk. Novice chefs can use the organic hot dogs donated by Applegate Farms, or follow in the footsteps of the professionals on “Pro Row” and make their own. Tickets are available here, and when you enter HD at checkout, you get a 15% discount. All proceeds go to the Food Bank for New York City.
