Having a Whiskey Coke With You, is both a zine and a monthly event at Freddy’s, and not-to-be-missed for creatively minded, low-key, artistic folk. It starts off with performers of almost every variety–from spoken word, to musicians, to performance artists–then goes on to readings from the zine, followed by an open mic for newcomers. This month marks the first issue of the zine, and the reading series’, second year, and current and past issues will be available for sale all night for just a buck. Everyone is welcome, and it’s a great way to break into a friendly scene or sit back and give mad snaps to the next generation of great New York performers.
