When choosing which of the three million NYC festivals to attend this year you have to be careful, because if you go to all of them you’ll obviously end up broke. But isn’t it worth shelling out some cash for the man who basically created music festivals? Lollapalooza creator Perry Farrell brings his band Jane’s Addiction (for their like 15th reunion, or maybe it isn’t a reunion anymore?) to Williamsburg Park on the shores of the East River in Brooklyn for the LACOSTE L!VE Williamsburg Park Concert Series (yes that’s what it is called now). Hearing classics like “Jane Says” and “Been Caught Stealing” will make the night well worth the scratch you gotta throw down for tickets. Die Antwoord, South Africa’s rap-rave shock crew with an affinity for the strange, will also be on hand to play a set of tracks that’ll keep you dancing and thinking, “What’s up with these guys?” Don’t feel like breaking out the piggy bank? Come on Saturday for the free concert with Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, and special guest Antibalas.
