I was lucky enough to see Sleepwalk With Me, comedian Mike Birbiglia’s awesome one-man show about his early stand-up career and affliction by a weird and somewhat dangerous sleep disorder, during its original run on Bleecker Street several years back. Unfortunately, I was not lucky enough to see the movie based on that show when it screened to a sold-out crowd as part of BAMcinemaFest this spring. I’m thrilled to see it’s back at BAM again for a week long run starting Friday, especially now that I know that Lauren Ambrose, who was Claire in Six Feet Under and is, in my opinion, criminally under-utilized by Hollywood, co-stars as Birbiglia’s live-in girlfriend. The film also features guest appearances from Marc Maron, Kristen Schaal, David Wain, and Wyatt Cenac, and was a success at both Sundance and SXSW.
