With all the highly anticipated books coming out this fall, it’s hard to imagine how the average busy New Yorker could possibly read them all. One that you should definitely make time for, however, is Telegraph Avenue, the latest from Pulitzer-Prize winning writer Michael Chabon. Chabon made a huge splash in the 2000s with The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay and The Yiddish Policeman’s Union, but five years have passed since he last released a novel. The advance word on Telegraph Avenue, the story of two intertwined families in Oakland, California, indicates that the wait has been worth it. On Monday, Chabon himself will be at Greenlight Bookstore at 7:30pm, to read from his latest, sign copies, and answer audience questions. Because this is likely to be a popular event, we suggest arriving early.
