Brooklyn Book Blowout

By

In case you’ve been living under a rock (or, uh, don’t stalk literary celebs through the streets of BK—not like I freaked out when I realized where Martin Amis lives or anything), this should serve as your reminder that THE egalitarian (read: free) literary event of the year is taking place this Sunday. The Brooklyn Book Festival is by far my fave annual event in the borough—it provides opps to see great authors read and discuss their books while also scoring loads of free things (pens and tote bags galore!). The Brooklyn Book Festival has always been a memorable day out for me—from seeing Jonathan Ames getting spanked onstage by David Cross to getting the hard sell for a N+1 subscription by Keith Gessen himself—so I’ve got high hopes for this Sunday. –C.A.
