If you’re interested in fashion that does some serious good, BK Fashion Week(end) 2012 at Industry City is the chi-chi workhorse to put your money on. Each season they pair with a different charitable organization, plus they’ve been working with the William H. Maxwell High School of East New York since 2007. These fashionistas also started Stitch for Success in 2008, a program that helps low-income workers find a foothold in fashion related fields, as well as an internship and job-mentoring program. This weekend they have designers coming to show clothes from all over, and there are four nights of shows that range from ready-to-wear and eco-friendly garb to couture, and they’re all preceded by a red carpet/silent auction combo and followed by a fundraiser. Thursday is the opening, which includes a pre-show cocktail reception; a full schedule for all events is available here.
