When Mommy Needs a Moment

By

Motherhood and parenting in general is a fraught topic these days, with what seems like uncountable ways to “do it wrong,” and more schools of thought than an undergrad philosophy department. So it’s nice to indulge in some time spent back on earth, where mistakes sometimes happen, wine needs to drunk, and a few F-bombs can fly like the 4th of July. If you’re a New Yorker subscriber, you might already know that I’m alluding to The Cursing Mommy, the hilarious column by New Yorker staff writer Ian Frazier, that he just developed into his first novel! Frazier will be discussing The Cursing Mommy’s Book of Days at Greenlight Bookstore with author/critic/journalist (and Brooklyn mom) Carmela Ciuraru for an event that could be the perfect mini-vacation for any Mom or Dad on the eve of All Hallow’s Eve, to steel themselves for the door-knocking and bell-ringing activities that will follow on Wednesday.
