DIY venues are a dime a dozen, but few are as majestic as The Autumn Bowl. Located in an ancient factory on the Greenpoint waterfront, you walk down a gravel path strewn with building materials, past a grill and cash bar, and into a soaring performance space at least four stories tall. In the center this past Saturday, bands performed while video art flickered on screens above them–a magical setting made all the more special by the fact that it is temporary. Before it disappears, check out the space Friday night with DJs sets by Four Tet, Jamie xx and Floating Points or on Halloween, when Andrew W.K. headlines a freaky dance party.
