Roky Erickson was the founder and main songwriter of the legendary ’60s psychedelic-garage group 13th Floor Elevators. The band charted with their song “You’re Gonna Miss Me” which also appropriately appeared on the soundtrack to the movie High Fidelity in 2000. Tonight, Erickson will be appearing at the Bell House. The man has been through hell and back, fighting battles with mental illness, poverty, being in and out of hospitals and jails, receiving electroconvulsive therapy and so much more—the documentary You’re Gonna Miss Me lays out a pretty detailed account of his life. The fact that you can see him live in person tonight is amazing in itself. Don’t miss it!
