Puppets are taking over! That’s right, this weekend at BAM The Jim Henson Foundation and BAMcinématek present Puppets On Film, three days of screenings, live performances and workshops with your favorite imaginary creatures. Highlights include screenings of The NeverEnding Story (featuring a Q&A with Alan Oppenheimer, the voice behind Falkor), Babe, The Muppets Take Manhattan (introduced by Abby Cadabby, parents!), and Labyrinth starring David Bowie; plus a Rocky Horror-style Labyrinth sing-along with Jim Henson’s youngest daughter Heather, a screening of The Beaver (Mel Gibson at his best!) with a video introduction by Jodie Foster, and a “Shadow Puppet Family Workshop” where you can make your own shadow puppet with master puppeteer Jim “Nappy” Napolitano (tickets are very limited for this, so hurry!). If you love puppets (you know you do!) then you do not want to miss this.
