Do You Still Need a Turkey?

By

Well, procrastinator or last-minute disaster manager, you’re in luck. The Meat Hook has a couple dozen turkeys in the 10-12-lb. range available for walk-in sales. They’re first come, first served, just show up at the counter and ask, and do it soon–they expect to sell out by the time they close for the holiday, Wednesday at 4pm. They also have a grab bag of smaller poultry still available, capons, guinea hens, cornish game hens, but again, act quickly. The turkeys are broad-breasted whites, raised on pasture in upstate New York without hormones or antibiotics and they’re $6.99 a lb. They even have brining kits, ready to go, or read butcher Brent Young’s turkey brine recipe.

Good luck out there!
