I can’t think of a better way to wind down after the Thanksgiving craziness than by watching one of my favorite movies ever, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, on the big screen. Nitehawk Cinema will be screening the classic tale of Charlie Bucket, Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, et al, both days this weekend at 11:45am. Sure, it is supposedly a kids’ movie, but let’s be real, the scenes with Slugworth and that inexplicably twisted boat ride into the world’s worst trip still terrify people of all ages. Grab a few friends and add a little Everlasting Gobstobber to your usual weekend brunch plans—maybe you can forget all about that abominable Johnny Depp remake a few years back! –K.H.
