Have you heard about Water Table? It’s a restaurant on a boat that will dock in Greenpoint starting this summer–provided the captain and chef, Kelli Farwell, of Rye, Dumont, Craft and Gramercy Tavern fame, and first mate, Sue Walsh, raise enough money to get her into Brooklyn waters. Their fundraising campaign on Indiegogo has just under three days left and they need some help. We chatted over email with First Mate Walsh and here’s the update:

The biggest news we have is that we found our boat! It’s the ‘cutest boat in North America’ according to our friends and family. She is currently residing in St. Joseph, Michigan and we visited her a few weeks ago. There was ‘love at first sight’ upon seeing her for the first time. She’s a real charmer and there are many ways to set her up for dinners, cocktail hours and private events. She has a steel hull which will help keep the ride calm for our guests in the waters of New York Harbor. It really seems meant to be. We’re working with the city to figure out the perfect spot for pick ups and drop offs in North Brooklyn. There is no other boat in New York Harbor that looks like ours. As I write this, we have 2/3 of our boat’s cost in our account $22,007, which is wonderful. However, we still need the final 1/3 of funds to close. We have three days left in our campaign! Any support would be so wonderful. We cannot wait to take all our friends, family and everyone who’s helped along the way out on The Water Table.

I don’t know about you, but come July, when it’s 95 and humid, I hope to be enjoying a lobster roll or some fried clams aboard the good ship Water Table.
