Fresh Off the Baos

By

Perhaps best described as the Four Loko-loving, hip hop-blasting court jester at the vanguard of the so-called “Asian hipster cuisine,” Baohaus’ chef/owner Eddie Huang gets as much attention for his personality as he does for his delicious baos. This week, get the backstory on how he ended up becoming one of the loudest foodie voices in the city as he discusses his new memoir, Fresh Off the Boat, about his love of family, Taiwanese street food, and rap music, at Greenlight Bookstore. He’ll be in conversation with the NYT’s former restaurant critic (and Red Hook booster) Sam Sifton, and as if that isn’t already a food lover’s dream come true, there will also be nibbles compliments of Baohaus.
