Seventh Avenue Smorgasbord

By

When I first moved to my Park Slope-ish neighborhood three years ago, one of the first local spots I fell in love with was Beer Table, a tiny, minimalist haven with an ever-changing list of beers that you’ve probably never heard of and will be hard-pressed to track down anywhere else. On Saturday, this stalwart of Seventh Ave. will celebrate its Fifth Anniversary by serving up $5 beers and $5 buttermilk biscuit sandwiches from noon to midnight. Sounds like a pretty good way to unwind after running my usual Saturday errands (or, even better, smack dab in the middle of it). To counteract that carb-load, you can pick up a considerably healthier dinner at Gather, a brand new café just a few blocks north that has freshly-made seasonal prepared foods, like short ribs and Swiss chard gratin, available for takeout.  —K.H.
