Red Hook Reopenings

By

Though life may have returned to normal for many of us post-Sandy, Red Hook businesses both big and small are still picking up the pieces. Excitingly, though, three of our fave (very different) Red Hook institutions are back in business effective this Friday. Fairway, which has been closed after intense flooding caused by the superstorm, will be reopening with fanfare on Friday morning, featuring giveaways, music, Marty Markowitz, and even Miss America. Red Hook Winery will also be opening their doors for the first time since Sandy this Friday, offering tastings of wine stored offsite since the storm, raffles, blind tastings, and more. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, as well as the weekend of March 30, when the Red Hook Crit is scheduled to take place, they’ll also be giving their rare tours of the winery—your magic ticket to the wine factory is proof of a purchase made in Red Hook that day. Finally, the Red Hook Lobster Pound will also be reopening on Friday afternoon. Businesses in Red Hook, whether re-opened or still shut, still need your help. You can donate to support them at Restore Red Hook, or just head out to Red Hook and get to know the great restaurants, bars, and shops there.
