This Thursday night is basically the World Series at Shea Stadium. Up first at bat is the extremely loud duo DON’T, featuring ex-drummer of Beat The Devil Mitchell King on the drums and ex-Giraffes frontman Aaron Lazar on vocals and guitar. The two are louder than life with King bashing the drums like Animal from The Muppets and Lazar running his guitar through both a guitar and bass amp turned to eleven. Next up is Shilpa Ray armed with a harmonium and a knack for catchy melodies. She’s just as loud as the boys, if not louder, with a huge voice and sharp tongue. Check out her video for “Nocturnal Emissions,” a song where she wonders what the conversation about reproductive rights would be like if it revolved around men’s rights instead of women’s.
