Last month was the first time we teamed up with Brooklyn Brewery on their monthly storytelling series, Funny Story, and the stories were so good, we can’t wait to see how this month’s guests will top them.
The premise is simple: Together with comedian Tom Shillue, we line up people with true, funny stories to tell. Some are comics, some are regular Brooklyn folk–writers, entrepreneurs, chefs–whose real-life tales will stay with you long after the night is through.
Thursday, March 21, join us at the Brewery to hear Eugene Mirman (who we hear will share a story involving the Mexican police and a well-known musician); writer and performer Abby Sher, who is currently working on a TV show about ugly parents; Mishka Shulaby, writer of horribly true stories about drink, drugs, disasters, desire, and deception and author of four bestselling Kindle Singles; Joel Weidl, former cook at Egg and performer at UCB; and comedian Nick Turner ( Jimmy Fallon, VHI’s Best Week Ever and a brand-new stand-up series at Union Hall), will be this edition’s guest host. The $10 tickets include a beer and all the laughs you can stand. Tell yer Facebook friends you’re coming here.
