A New Collaborative Workspace and Tech Lab, for Free

By

Here’s yet another excuse to hang out at Brooklyn Public Library’s spectacular Central Library at Grand Army Plaza: The Shelby White and Leon Levy Information Commons. The new, 5,500-square-foot collaborative workspace and learning lab features meeting rooms with SMART boards, a digital recording studio, the latest computer and software technology on Macs and PCs, and a whole lot of great classes and workshops–all for free. Throughout April (and beyond), BPL’s lead media education partner, BRIC Arts | Media | Bklyn, is offering classes in digital storytelling, short-form video techniques and digital photo enhancement. Other Info Commons workshops include Genealogy for Beginners, a weekly New York Writers Coalition drop-in workshop, and resume and job-searching workshops. Spaces are limited, and some classes require registration.
