NY TravFest

Now that it’s starting to really feel like spring, our previously frozen travel feet are itching to start planning summer excursions. If yours are too, join us on Saturday, April 20, at NY TravFest. Allison Meier and Chitra Agrawal, two of our favorite Brooklyn Based writers, plus Annaliese Griffin, editor-in-chief, will be speaking on a panel about day trips to take around New York City (and nearby New Jersey). Allison will focus in on “tombstone tourism” and Chitra will outline some great places to eat South Asian food, shop for ingredients and then tell us how to make delicious things with them. Also, we’ll have some samosas to share. There are loads of great sessions that are a little more exotic, too, with travel experts like Andrew Evans, National Geographic’s Digital Nomad. TravFest topics will cover everything from places like Mexico and the Czech Republic, to offering pro travel tips and discussing the politics of travel in 2013. On Sunday, April 21, TravFest has organized tours in all five boroughs focusing in on everything from ferries to food. Get your tickets now, they’ll be pricier at the door on April 20.
