BLDGing Up the Navy Yard

By

It’s become more and more worthwhile to trek to the Navy Yard for everything from art to whiskey. BLDG 92 has upped its game as of late with a wide variety of shows, classes and public programs. Upcoming programming includes sustainability bike tours of the Navy Yard on April 21 and May 26 at noon and a seasonal photography tour, with the opportunity to take photos of the Navy Yard’s mix of old and new buildings, taking place this Saturday, April 19, at 11am. BLDG 92 is also hosting several exhibitions, all open from Wednesday-Sunday from noon to 6pm. Reflections on Rosie celebrates the intersection between modern female entrepreneurs and women in WWII; Past, Present and Future traces the history of the Navy Yard and its rebirth featuring manufacturing and green businesses; and Designing the Future features inventions by students that may become a part of the Navy Yard. Make a day of it and visit Kings County Distillery, also in the Navy Yard; its Saturday tours are both educational and delicious.
