Bringin’ the Bayou to Brooklyn

So you didn’t make it down to Jazzfest this year? Relax, you can still kick it New Orleans-style this weekend. On Saturday, one of our favorite watering holes, Sycamore Bar, is throwing its annual Crawfish Boil in the back garden. A personal bucket of crawfish and a cold pint of Abita brew can be yours for just $25, and if you grab a couple of friends, who’s to say you won’t have a couple more beers and make an afternoon of it? There are three crawfish servings scheduled at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm, and tickets are available here. While you’re all together, be sure to make plans for Celebrate Brooklyn’s New Orleans Dance Party, featuring Big Sam’s Funky Nation, on May 9 at Brooklyn Bridge Park.
