A Greener Greenpoint

Let a tree grow in Brooklyn, or rather many trees, plants and flowers. The folks behind 61 Franklin hope to transform a vacant lot at 61 Franklin St. into a community-tended garden and open space in Greenpoint, funded by its members and donations. Tonight Diamond Bar is holding a Let’s Build a Garden for Greenpoint fundraiser to help them out by donating 20% of all bar sales to the space. Money will be used for building a rainwater harvest system; purchasing tools; building areas for community meetings; and growing native plants to house pollinators like butterflies and bees. Also, any donations, including garden tools etc., are welcome. So who says drinking too much never leads to anything good? Drink up, and support a greener Greenpoint.
