The Anti-Pageant

By

Not exactly a fan of beauty pageants? Well, who can blame you when they have delivered us to the nadir of American culture by unleashing Honey Boo Boo, giving Donald Trump more airtime and making this happen? This week’s second annual Inner Beauty Pageant at Littlefield, though, sounds like something completely different. Brought to you by the same people behind the wildly popular Punderdome 3000 shows, the Inner Beauty Pageant pits twelve New Yorkers–discovered via Craigslist, flyer distribution and word of mouth–against each other in a contest involving a homemade swimsuit competition, a talent portion and naturally, a Q&A session about world peace. Tickets are just 5 bucks if you snag them in advance online or $7 at the door.
