Beach Fossils, Noxious Foxes and Marissa Nadler

By

Listening to Beach Fossils, the brainchild of Brooklyn’s Dustin Payseur, is the closest thing you’ll get to sticking your toes in the sand for now. His light-hearted rock lyrics are like sunshine on a soundstage, so consider starting you weekend out right by making your way to Manhattan and catching his gig at Cake Shop as part of the Downtown Music Festival. Show starts at 8pm and tickets are $45–steep but the day-pass price gains you access to other gigs.

Saturday night, stay local and check out Noxious Foxes at Cameo Gallery, the Brooklyn, math-rock duo is playing with Drunken Sufis and Pretty & Nice. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door, and the show starts at 8pm.

Take a trip to Greenpoint on Sunday to let Marissa Nadler serenade you with her spot-on soprano and acoustic guitar. She’s playing with Guy Blakeslee of Entrance Band and Jozef Van Wissem at Saint Vitus Bar, starting at 8pm. Tickets are $12.
