It’s hard to believe it’s been seven years since Jason Goodman and Jeremy Lovitt birthed the artistic incubator better known as 3rd Ward, but in the years since its inception, the creative collective has become a mecca for makers, tinkers, fixers and artists of all sorts in North Brooklyn, and to celebrate their seven year itch, the guys are firing up the grills and throwing a birthday BBQ complete with live music and educational workshops starting Saturday at 2pm. As the party coincides with Bushwick Open Studios, guests will also get the chance to check out two Arts in Bushwick offerings: Seeking Space, a group exhibition of large-scale installations, video projections and live performances, and a screening of Walking Into the Dashboard, a compilation of works from the World’s First Tumblr Art Symposium. Everyone is invited, but RSVPs are encouraged.
