R&B in the Afternoon

By

Opportunities to hear live outdoor music in the evenings abound this time of year, but BAM is giving us all a chance to groove through the afternoon with its R&B Festival, a lunchtime concert series that kicks off today at noon at MetroTech Commons. Get your lunch to go, so you can listen to some sweet music by Mint Condition, an all-male outfit that made it big in the ’80s (it’s Throwback Thursday after all). The quintet was recently inducted into the Soul Music Hall of Fame and spent time touring with Prince. All concerts are free and series highlights include Bobby Rush, Avery*Sunshine, Shuggie Otis and Prince protege, Sheila E.
