On Friday, June 7 a modest crowd gathered at Coney Island USA’s Sideshows by the Seashore for Brooklyn Babydoll’s Tantastic Nudie Showcase of Class, part of Coney’s Burlesque at the Beach series. The torrential downpour that hit the city that evening brought to mind the storm that severely threatened Coney Island eight months earlier. Luckily, the heavy rain did little to put a damper on the nine burlesque performers that night. The weather outside made it hard to believe that summer was on its way, but the steamy performances inside made the rainy trek to Coney Island worth it.
