Have a Date With Hitchcock

By

Deciding what to do on date night is a perennial question in all partnerships to which I am always looking for new answers–most recently it was catching a screening of Peaches Does Herself on BAM’s new Steinberg Screen, then heading over to Splitty for some bao buns. The dinner-and-a-movie pairing proved so fruitful, my husband and I are doing it again tonight, when we head back to BAM’s Harvey Theater to catch part of Hitchcock 9, a special screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s nine surviving silent films being screened at BAM between June 29 and July 3. It’s hard to decided between watching The Farmer’s Wife at 7pm or Easy Virture at 9:30pm (both are being accompanied with live music by pianist Stephen Horne), so I might just make it a double feature. Decisions are split between dinner as well–the Thai food at National up the road is always doable, but I’m kind of obsessed with the brussel sprouts and Diablo cocktail at Walter’s, so I might just have to double up on dinner, too, and walk it off in Fort Greene Park afterward.–JG
