A few years back I was at SXSW and just happened to be on the same bill as a band called Bass Drum of Death–three kids from Mississipi playing loud garage punk in a style not much different from Ty Segall. They were a ton of fun, and I’m glad to see they’re playing in Brooklyn at Glasslands this Tuesday. Local punk rockers the So-So Glos who play anthemic punk rock somewhere between the styles of The Clash, The Voidoids and Operation Ivy are also on the bill.
