Bastille Day has the ability to bring out the inner Francophile in all of us, but before putting on a bateau tee and playing petanque tomorrow to commemorate the storming of the Parisian prison fortress, head to the backyard of By Brooklyn in Carroll Gardens for a French Bulldog party. These tiny, wombat-eared companions are everywhere in the borough, making them France’s single greatest cultural contribution to the city since the baguette–the Statue of Liberty excluded. Entry is $10 if you bring your bulldog; otherwise it’s $15, with proceeds going to the Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue. The party starts at 3pm and includes French cocktails and snacks.
