I’m Alright, Don’t Nobody Worry ‘Bout Me

caddyshackAhoy, polloi! On Tuesday night, as the sun sets behind the Statue of Liberty, fans of Caddyshack will get to see the 1980 classic as they never have before: projected on a giant outdoor screen on Valentino Pier in Red Hook. This is the second-to-last screening of the summer for Red Hook Flicks, which is secretly my favorite venue in the borough for outdoor movies, and where can I even begin with this selection? If you can appreciate some good juvenile slapstick, you’ve probably been injecting quotes from Judge Smails and Carl the groundskeeper into your conversations for years. If you can’t, well, you might want to loosen up for a night because Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, Rodney Dangerfield and the rest of the cast absolutely kill it in this one. Also, Red Hook Lobster Pound is sponsoring the evening, so you’ve got that going for you, which is nice. Expect some delicious grub, and how ’bout a Fresca to wash it down? –KH
