This month’s Soul Clap & Dance Off hits Brooklyn Bowl on Saturday. Starting at midnight, DJ Jonathan Toubin will be spinning the most soulful of soul 45s to get the night kicking as movers and shakers of all kinds shift from the bowling lanes to the dance floor. Trade in bowling shoes for dancing shoes, because at 1am, the dance contest begins, and a $100 cash prize is up for grabs. To make this particular night a little more interesting Toubin has called in Cole Alexander of the Black Lips (who have just finished recording a new record with Patrick Carney of, no joke, The Black Keys) to select the tunes for the contest. Tickets are only $7, and drink specials include $5 Espolon Tequila drinks all night long. Can you mash potato? Can you do the twist? Well do it all night long and make a few bucks while you’re at it.
