For parents of school-age kids, this time of year can be crazy making, as you wait out private school and public school admissions. But there is a stellar, new K-12 option for your child’s education opening this fall in Red Hook. It’s called BASIS Independent Brooklyn, and they are hosting information sessions where you can learn more about their rigorous STEM-focused curriculum (in which students take an average of 10 AP exams–by junior year!), unique teaching style (two teachers per classroom from the first through fourth grades), and fresh approach to admissions (where no weight is given to standardized test scores). BASIS is offering these information sessions to prospective parents throughout the month of February–the one on Feb. 11 even features the founders of BASIS. Just find a date on their calendar that works, and click to register.
