Folioleaf gallery and a pinhole photo booth for couples are two new attractions on this month’s First Thursday gallery walk in Dumbo, but there are plenty of old haunts worth visiting on your crawl. Arcilesi | Homberg Fine Art features a critical examination of the selfie by the artist gilf! (which sounds a lot like gif), and David Jordano is exhibiting his documentary-style portraits of an unbroken down Detroit at United Photo Industries. There are also scores of snowfalls, frozen waterfalls, stalagmites and snowdrifts captured by Paula McCartney on view at Klompching, more extreme than our own wintry scenery. Newcomer Folioleaf doubles as an online market for affordable art, and its gallery space at 111 Front St. will also host exhibitions like its inaugural group show celebrating the screen-printed edition. And if this night happens to be date night, or you love the company you’re keeping, Trunk is offering pinhole photobooth sessions with Stefan Killen Thursday through Saturday, where $100 will get you a print of your 15-minute, moody photo shoot, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
